Coram
A father and his son were charged with kidnaping after a man was forced into his car at gunpoint Sunday night in Coram. Suffolk County detectives charged Sheldon Davis, 40, and Latif Davis, 22, both of Coram, with kidnaping 2nd degree and menacing 2nd degree. Latif was also charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance 4th degree. Police said the pair approached a man as he was getting into his car and forced him to drive them around. When they left the car to enter a store, the man escaped and summoned help. The two were remanded to jail Monday after pleading not guilty.
A Hickville man was arrested Saturday for allegedly burglarizing a Garden City home in early September. According to detectives, Garden City Police responded to a Roosevelt Avenue home on Sept. 3 for an alarm. The officers discovered window screens on the first and second floor had been cut. No proceeds were reported stolen. The Nassau County Police Crime Scene Unit was able to obtain a latent finger print that matched Pagan. Pagan is charged with second-degree burglary and was arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Valley Stream
Police arrested a Far Rockaway man in Valley Stream early Wednesday on charges of possession of forged credit cards. Police said Oluwayemi Famojuro, 21, of Far Rockaway, was operating a 2006 Infinity G35 eastbound on the sidewalk of Sunrise Highway. When stopped, Famojuro presented a New York State drivers license with a name that did not match his description. When questioned about his identity he continued to falsely represent himself. After he was arrested he was found to be in possession of four credit cards that appeared to be altered. Famojuro is charged with four counts of second-degree possession of forged instrument and false personation. He was arraigned last week at First District Court in Hempstead.
Hicksville
A robbery occurred on Nov. 20 at 9:15 p.m. at the Kay Jewelers in the Broadway Mall According to detectives, two men initially posed as customers before making verbal robbery demands and one man threatened the use of a gun which was never displayed. The employees complied with their demands and handed over and undetermined amount of assorted jewelry. The subjects then fled from the store and exited the mall through the south doors alongside Macy’s. The men were described as follows: a male black, 6’0” tall in his 30’s, stocky build with a dark complexion and a thin mustache. He was wearing a navy blue hoody and a knit cap; male black, 5’8” tall in his late 20’s, stocky build and a scruffy beard. He was wearing a black hoody. At the time of the robbery there were 2 employees present, neither of which were injured. Detectives request anyone with information regarding this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. Huntington
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to locate the three men who stole a microphone from a Sam Ash music store located at 269 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station. Three black men entered the store and stole a Neumann microphone, valued at approximately $2,300, at 2:10 p.m. on Oct. 17. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
Smithtown
Police arrested two Brentwood individuals after they allegedly robbed three gas stations last week, armed with weapons. Lynteenie Codner, 21, was arrested in Smithtown on Nov. 14 on three counts of first degree robbery while displaying a firearm and one count of third degree robbery, all felonies. Stephanie Machado, 19, was arrested in Smithtown on Nov. 14 on two counts of first degree robbery while displaying a firearm and one count of third degree robbery, all felonies.
Reports state Codner and Machado displayed a firearm at an undisclosed Gulf gas station on Sept. 29 and robbed the store of money. According to reports, Codner and Machado also robbed cash from an undisclosed Mobil gas station on Sept. 30 and Monte's Service Station in North Babylon on Sept. 13.
