Cops: Great Neck Burglar Caught

A Clifton Park man was arrested Monday for allegedly breaking into six homes, in Great Neck and Sands Point. According to police, Spencer Williams, 51, broke into homes and stole jewelry. After an investigation, Williams was arrested Monday at his Clifton Park home without incident. He is charged with six counts of second-degree burglary and his arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Corrections Officer Accused of Sexual Conduct with Underage Girl

 A 41-year-old Department of Corrections officer has been charged with engaging in sexual conduct with an underage girl, the Queens district attorney said. Giovanny Campos surrendered himself to Forest Hills’ 112th Precinct on Jan. 7 and has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexual abuse, Queens DA Richard Brown said.

Supreme Courthouse Tuesday Morning

The New York State Supreme Courthouse in Mineola was evacuated Tuesday morning after a bomb threat had been received by telephone according to official reports. While the entire court complex was searched after evacuations took place at about 11 a.m., no suspicious packages or items were found and police from the arson-bomb squads reported to the scene to conduct an investigation. The area was deemed safe for people to return at about 11:30 a.m. and jurors from the central jury room were instructed to return at 2 p.m.

Farmingdale Man Admits Receiving Kickbacks from Collection Agency

A Farmingdale man pleaded guilty in federal court Friday in a kickback scheme to defraud lenders, investors and clients. Michael Gesimondo, 57, of Farmingdale, waived his right to an indictment and pleaded guilty to the charges before a federal judge in Bridgeport, Conn., said Deirdre M. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Gesimondo admitted to receiving kickbacks while he was an executive at Washington Mutual Bank.
