Lynbrook

Two men broke into a new convertible at a Lynbrook car dealership early Friday morning, but fled after they set off the car's alarm. According to police, the pair returned an hour later and set fire to the same car.

Police are reporting that two white men wearing hooded jackets entered  on Sunrise Highway and broke into a 2012 Audi S5 convertible. After setting fire to the car just an hour later, the men fled in a waiting vehicle driven by an unknown third person. The  responded with five trucks and 50 firefighters to extinguish the fire. There was no damage to any other vehicles and no injuries reported.

Smithtown

New York State Police have arrested a Smithtown man who was found with digital photos and videos with underage children performing sexual acts, according to police.

Police said Sean Murphy, 27, of Smithtown, was arrested after they received a cyber tip through the Internet Crime Against Children hotline, showing he was in possession of the photos and videos, identified through his computer account. Murphy's home was investigated in May 1 after police obtained a search warrant where an iPhone, several computers and computer storage mediums were searched, and the search from the Computer Crimes Units found photos and files, police said.

Glen Cove

A 15-year-old male student at  faces charges of forcible touching and unlawful imprisonment in connection with an incident that occurred at the school on May 4, according to the Glen Cove Police Department.

Police said the boy appeared to force a girl into a restroom and at approximately 2:50 p.m., after regular classes had ended, the boy, a sophomore, was recorded on video surveillance entering a girls' restroom with a 15-year-old female freshman.  The victim reported that the boy fondled her and touched her inappropriately inside the restroom.

The female student reported the incident to school staff, who conducted an investigation and called police.
