A man flashing a badge took $200 from a 90-year-old man on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the CVS parking lot at 2030 Hillside Avenue, according to a report from the . The robber, claiming he was looking for counterfeit money, fled in an unknown direction. 

Malverne-West Hempstead

Tires and rims were stolen from vehicles parked on Richard Street, Nightingale Road and 10 Place in West Hempstead, Tood Road, Cochran Place and E. Fenimore Street in Valley Stream, Hempstead Turnpike and Louis Avenue and Wellington Road in Elmont and Doris Avenue in Franklin Square from August 7 to 12.

A 45-year-old man was robbed Saturday afternoon as he sat in the rear of his 2004 Lexus in the parking lot at Roosevelt Field Mall, according to Nassau County's Third Squad.

According to police, the thief approached the victim and demanded money. When the victim stated he didn't have any, the thief grabbed the victim's laptop computer and iPod Touch and fled on foot in an unknown direction. 

Hicksville

Nassau County police reported the following Aug. 10 arrests:

Stefanie Tag, 18, petit larceny, Sears, Hicksville.

Nicholas Lucarello, 28, robbery, Sears, Hicksville.

Frances Torelli, 16, petit larceny, Sears, Hicksville.

Nassau police reported that on Aug. 14, a grand larceny occurred when an iPod and cash were stolen from a car at the Broadway Mall

East Meadow

A complainant saw two people in her driveway trying the handles on her vehicle that was parked on Merrick Avenue on Aug. 13. The two fled on Merrick Avenue and complainant followed them to confront them about her pocketbook that was stolen the previous night.  The two were taken into custody after they were found to be in possession of property from another larceny.
