A Lynbrook man received a maximum prison sentence for driving drunk and striking an elderly couple on their way to dinner, according to the Nassau County District Attorney's office Friday.

Sean Crane, 51, of Lynbrook, pleaded guilty in October to felony drunk driving and a battery of other charges in exchange for his prison sentence. He will be behind bars for at least five years and 10 months and could be in prison for up to 14 years, said the DA. Click here to read the full story.

Cops Seek Valley Stream Bank Robber

Police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed a Valley Stream bank Wednesday morning.

Nassau County Police said that an unknown man presented a demand note to a teller at TD Bank on West Merrick Avenue. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled on foot northbound on Central Avenue, cops said. Click here for the full story.

Fired Woman Sues Golf Club, Claiming Sexism

Toni DeMay said she was fired from her job as general manager at Wheatley Hills Golf Club in 2010 after 28 years because she's a woman and wouldn't put up with the hostile work environment, claiming in the court documents that “some of the club members have a more prehistoric mindset” and “have chafed at the fact that a woman was in a position of such authority and importance at the club” with some lobbying to terminate her employment. Click here for the full story.
