Long Island Rail Road service was suspended on the Port Washington branch for an hour Tuesday night after a woman was struck just west of Douglaston Station, the MTA said.
An eastbound train struck a woman at the west end of Douglaston station at 9:20 p.m., according to MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, Donovan said.
Service was suspended in both directions pending an MTA Police investigation. One track was cleared and limited service restored at 10:11 p.m.
Two trains were cancelled: The 9:39 p.m. train from Port Washington and 9:48 train from Penn Station.
Two other trains were held: The 9:18 p.m. from Penn Station was halted at Bayside while the 9:09 p.m. from Port Washington was stopped at Great Neck.
The MTA said to expect residual delays in both directions.
