Medical Debris Washes Ashore on Manorhaven Beach

Investigation underway.

Nassau County police say they are looking into the source of medical waste that washed ashore at .

Aworker called police after discovering the debris: "approximately 78 hypodermic needles, 43 hypodermic wrappers, and 32 vials of a miscellaneous drug," according to police.

A Nassau County Police Emergency Service Unit removed the material. Police say an investigation to determine the source of the medical waste is underway.
