Port Washington played host for a weekend of events and camaraderie.

The played host to volunteer fire departments as it hosted the 2012 Nassau County Parade and Drill over the past weekend. The recent election of Port Washington's Ex-Chief James A. Interdonati as new president of the Nassau County Firemen's Association made the host selection for this multi-day event noteworthy.

Drill teams comprised of men and women of the volunteer fire service from Nassau competed in two tournaments held at the Denton Ave Training Facility at Michael J. Tulley Park in New Hyde Park.
