A Port Washington man was charged with public lewdness on Monday for an incident that took place in Kensington, a village in Great Neck, in September 2012.
Nassau County police say that on Sept. 21 at 8:17 p.m., a 49-year-old woman was in front of her Arleigh Road residence in Kensington when Noor El Tahawy, 24, of Revere Road in Port Washington, pulled up in a Silver 2005 Toyota and asked for directions. According to police, Tahawy then pointed to his private parts and began performing a lewd act before driving away. The woman called Third Precinct police, and provided a description that led detectives to Tahawy’s home. They arrested him without incident. Police say Tahawy also admitted to a second incident that took place on North Drive on Sept. 21, at 1:50 p.m.
Tahawy was charged with two counts of public lewdness. He was released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Hempstead on Feb. 12.
