PWPD Crime Report: March 1-14

Incidents and arrests in the Port Washington Police District over the past few weeks.

The following information is taken directly from the Port Washington Police District's Felony Report. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. All complaints listed are only alleged crimes under local investigation.

Arrests:

  • A Port Washington woman was arrested and charged with shoplifting at 75 Shore Road on March 1.
  • A Port Washington man was arrested and charged for violating a stay away order on Davis Avenue on March 10.
  • A Staten Island woman was arrested and charged with an open bench warrant and multiple vehicular traffic law offenses on Port Washington Boulevard on March 10.

  • A Toronto woman reported while checking her sister's residence at 29 Orchard Farm Road on March 1, it was discovered that someone had forced entry into the home and jewelry was missing. This burglary is currently under investigation.
  • A Port Washington woman reported jewelry valuing approximately $34,000 missing from her residence at 22 Driftwood Drive in December 2009 on March 5. Police are currently performing a local investigation of the alleged grand larceny.
  • A complainant reported the theft of her U.S. Passport and social security card from her former residence at 25 Dolphin Green on March 8. This grand larceny is currently under investigation.
  • A Port Washington woman reported that an unknown person(s) tried to open investment accounts with her husband's information on March 10. A fraud investigation is underway.
  • A complainant reported her purse missing with $500 in currency, multiple credit cards and her social security card at Sung Cleaners on March 10. This grand larceny is currently under investigation.
  • A complainant reported damage to various village signs throughout Port Washington North on Driftwood Drive on March 12. This criminal mischief is under investigation.
