Tell Us: Are You Still Without Power?

Let us know streets are still in the dark.

LIPA has said some homes may not see their power restored until Nov. 10-11. Meanwhile, readers outside of the Port Washington area have reached out to Patch, concerned for their friends and family on the peninsula.

Does your street have power? Do you know of blocks still in the dark? Trees that need clearing?

Tell us in the comments.

If you zoom in on the interactive LIPA outage map at... http://www.lipower.org/stormcenter/outagemap.html seems some crews are clustered along shore drive and around manorhaven. tried to report outage online and got "no server data error" message probably because requests for that LIPA are overloaded. So try reporting via voice, mobile web and/or text too? http://www.lipower.org/stormcenter/report.html

I am fairly sure that Manhasset Bay Estates still has no power. I can only speak for Luquer and Oakland and by Pine St. Have not seen a LIPA truck today or any other day. I did hear that we may power back by Friday which is crazy. LIPA/LILCO same garbage.

I tried to stay optimistic all day, hoping that when I got home I would be greeted with power, but alas...I have been disappointed once again. It is difficult to drive around and see entire sections of Beacon Hill with power and then a lonely block on one side of Beverly Road totally in the dark. Where are these LIPA trucks/crews that supposedly are all in the area striving to re-energize us? With temperatures dropping and a new storm on the horizon - where does that leave the few house in Beacon Hill???? Did someone not report a downed tree in their backyard which took down power lines that LIPA is unaware of???? I hope someone is out there trying to find out the reason why we are still in the dark when everyone around us is up and running?

I would like to know when we are going to get some solid No political , no sugar coated communiques from LIPA people??? As i do appreciate the efforts of one Peter Forman from norh shore alert , I don't think he realizes how condesending his messages really are .Does everyone in this leadership capacity think all of us a litle lambs and can be told anything and we will accept it?what gives? i want the damn truth.when is my power going back on , its going on 7 days now.I don't see any workers anywhere.I live in the unincorporated village of port washington on beverly road where the power is on across the street on the west side and we on the east side have nothing? What gives , why? i just heard on the news there are workers from texas sitting around and no one told them where they need to go? Come on Peter forman give it to us straight , where is LIPA ?? We need Lights old people , young people just people .Get it done!

Ironically the LIPA outage map was out-of-service but is now back online after being upgraded and updates added at.... http://www.lipower.org/stormcenter/outagemap.html

Unfortunately the "updated" map no longer shows locations of restoration crews. There is only a separate stormcenter link to the total number of crews by town... http://www.lipower.org/stormcenter/crew-update.html

I think this new map is worse

It's eight days since the storm and I still have no power. No one has called us. No one has stopped by. I live in Salem and I still see transformers on the ground. Trees have not been cleared. Branches line the streets. Sound view gets calls all the time. Manor haven has a mayor that got them power and cleaned up on Saturday. We have a mayor who sits in his office and issues edicts on patch. Being unincorporated sucks. Paying the highest taxes in the nation sucks. I love this town but I will be moving first chance I get. High taxes, apathetic and inept administration, global warming, and and storms make this island less desirable place to live.

Where are our politicians when we need them ?
Linda S November 06, 2012 at 02:06 PM
I have lived in soundview for more than 34 years and I still have the same old pole and wires hanging behind my house. there is an inverse relationship between the quality of service they deliver and the bills I receive. I want to see service upgraded. This is unacceptable. In the new economy if you don't do your job you lose my our job. Lets move on. Enough is enough. One week what are they going to do for me. Maybe a lower bill. Oops I will have that anyway. I haven't used any electricity. The next bill will be interesting to review. Good luck to all

No Power on most of the Park Section for 8 days and counting. Bar Beach Road has no power. I'm hearing people from all over the island regarding non union workers who came to help...being sidelined. There are many young single women with children and the elderly...who need help and cannot get out. Gas lines are beyond...and for many they can't get to the gas station because its too far away. Please help. Storms are coming and its only going to get colder. If Non Union workers are sidelined or if they are not sidelined....please someone needs to expose the truth. LIPA got the businesses of Port Washington up and running...and took off.

Fairview Ave still no power.
Steven Adler November 06, 2012 at 07:41 PM
No power on revere road. Ran into a Town of North Hempstead guy in a truck and asked when are we getting power back? "god knows" was his reply, "I'm a tree guy, that's not my job" Seems its no one's job to provide accurate information on the status of our electricity.

1444 outages in port north this morning and guess what from a website that is updated every 15 minutes - there are 1444 outages in ow north at 4:05 this evening. Are we surprised?
Linda S November 06, 2012 at 09:15 PM
You would have to be able to find them to ask. So far all the ns alerts are disclaimers that they are only local and can do nothing. You surprised. Do they have power?
eayne cashdan November 07, 2012 at 01:49 PM
Any updates on Soundview?
Doretta Goldberg November 07, 2012 at 05:03 PM
Still no power in Russell Gardens, Great Neck. We are going on our 10th night!!!!!
JD November 07, 2012 at 06:33 PM
Any updates on Fairview/Park section today?
Kathleen McDermott November 07, 2012 at 07:03 PM
Still no power on Bar Beach Road. Any updates on the Park Section of Port Washington?
Tom DiCarlo November 07, 2012 at 10:00 PM
Great Neck mostly dark as is Manhasset. Of the 600 or so homes in the Strathmores, less than 100 are lit.
Dawn Andrew November 07, 2012 at 10:31 PM
Power was restored this afternoon to some of Manhasset Bay Estates. Thank you to the out of town workers who made that happen.
donna November 07, 2012 at 11:07 PM
Still no power to most of Soundview. Promises of restoration are obvious lies when there are no trucks sent to our neighborhoods and trees are not being cleared. Where are our leaders? No excuses.
Jane Goh November 08, 2012 at 01:22 AM
Jane Goh, 34 Angler Lane is still without power, no heat. Today is November 7. I just wonder will we get power back by Christmas? The situation is getting ridiculous now.
Art November 08, 2012 at 05:52 AM
Trees down on private property have been removed in the Park Section by private contractors. doing what apparently government cannot. The general public has now experienced the true definition of INCOMPETENCE.

Has this thread been abandoned? It was practically my only source of information
