Wanted for Grand Larceny

Police are looking for two men they say steal pocketbooks and wallets from shopping carts.

The Crime Stoppers are asking the public’s help to identify and locate two males wanted for at least four grand larcenies.

Between June 20, 2011 and July 30, 2011, two unknown males (pictured) – one wearing an olive-colored shirt with vertical stripes, khaki shorts and a tan bowler-style hat, the other wearing a yellow reflective vest, light-colored baseball cap and dark shorts – were last seen around the Soundview Marketplace and Delco shopping area, which houses Stop & Shop, in Port Washington. They are wanted in connection with stealing pocketbooks and wallets from shopping carts when shoppers are distracted, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Alberti of the Port Washington Police, at 516-883-0500, extension 330. All calls will remain anonymous.
