Board of Elections Seeks Poll Workers

Help needed for special Aug.1 vote.

The Nassau County Board of Elections reported Monday that it still has  openings for poll workers for the Aug.1 special referendum vote.

Positions are available throughout the county. The work schedule Aug.1 is 5:15 a.m. to the close of polls. Pay starts at $180 for the day and $25 for a 2-hour training class required to perform the task.

The responsibilities are to assist voters with the process on Election Day. Workers will be trained on how to sign in voters, guide them to the correct voting machine and ensure that their vote is cast in private and secure manner.
