Dec. 7: Commemorating Pearl Harbor Day

Happenings in and around Port Washington.

1. Wednesday marks 70 years since the deadly attack on Pearl Harbor. In remembering the more than 3,500 Americans killed or wounded in the Japanese attack in 1941, President Barack Obama has asked all Americans to fly flags at half-staff

2. In honor of this important day, consider donating time or money to a nearby veterans group, including , American Legion Post 509, or Port Washington Detachment Marine Corps League.

3. Research Pearl Harbor at the , either via books or film.
