League of Women Voters "Meet the Candidates" Night

The League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset will sponsor two "Meet the Candidates Nights" for the residents of both areas. 

On Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the Port Washington Senior Citizens Center at 80 Manorhaven Boulevard there will be a "Meet the Candidates Night" for the candidates for Port Washington Water and Police Commissioner positions.

The two candidates for Port Washington Water Commissioner will air their views first, from approximately 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. They are Thomas J. Murray Jr., the incumbent, and James A. Brodie, his challenger.

Beginning at 7:45 p.m., four candidates for Police Commissioner will meet the public. They are Christopher Byrne, Dave Franklin, Robert Hogan and H. Reed Markham. 

The League provides this service to the public every year and urges citizens to attend. Elections will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

Port Washington special district elections take place in the Polish-American Hall at 5 Pulaski Place from 12 p.m. t0 9 p.m.

On Monday, No. 29th, candidates for the Manhasset-Lakeville Water Commission will be speaking at 7 pm, at the Manhasset Library, in the Community Room. The library is located at 30 Onderdonk Avenue in Manhasset. The candidates are Rudy Barranco, the incumbent, and Donald O'Brien, his challenger. This event will be televised by Public Access TV.
