Free I.D. Cards For Kids in Hicksville Saturday

County program designed to have key information in one place in case of emergencies.

Nassau County parents can get a free photo identification card Saturday in central Hicksville that provides key information on a single, wallet-sized card. 

Along with a picture, fingerprint and contact information, the identification card includes the date of birth, physical description and gender of the child.

Nassau County's "KidPix" program is a safety precaution, said Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano 

"If ever a child is missing, parents can present the KidPix card to law enforcement officials as a helpful tool to help return the child quickly,” Mangano said.

Nassau County children of all ages can participate in the KidPix program.  Photos and fingerprints will be processed on-site and families will be able to take their KidPix cards home directly from the event. 

Saturday's program will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Dan Ratkewitch AllState Agency, 18 West Village Green, Hicksville.
