H1N1 Clinic Draws Hundreds

In total, 222 vaccinations were administered at Sen. Craig Johnson-sponsored event.

More than 200 local residents received flu vaccinations at a recent H1N1 immunization drive, sponsored by Sen. Craig M. Johnson (D-Port Washington).

The Feb. 3 clinic, which was co-sponsored by Nassau University Medical Center and held at Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington, was among the best attended H1N1 clinics this season, according to NUMC officials.

"We were gratified to see the great community usage of the clinic," said Sharon Maier-Kennelly, executive director at Landmark on Main Street. "It was a wonderful thing that Sen. Craig Johnson did for the community."

In all, 222 vaccinations were distributed to residents from across Nassau County, many of whom are from Port Washington.

"I would especially like to thank thank Nursing Supervisor Karen Dudek and the staff at NUMC's Department of Ambulatory Care and Community Medicine for helping in this very important effort," Johnson said. "I am glad we were able to provide easy access to these vaccinations to the residents of the 7th Senate District."
