Knickerbocker Property Moving Forward

A water run-off study will be conducted on the property and the surrounding area.

Plans with the former Knickerbocker property are moving forward.

The senior housing that proposed for that spot responded "satisfactorily" to the Port Washington Fire Eepartment's requests, noted Councilwoman Dina DeGiorgio, R-Port Washington, during Wednesday's Town of North Hempstead meeting. One thing that will be changed is that the mechanical ventilator that will be activated manually.

After discussion at the last Town of North Hempstead meeting about water flow near the harbor, the Town placed as a condition for approval that the property have an analysis of water run-off in the area so that the Town can look at ways to mitigate this situation. Cord Meyer Development Company, the developer, agreed to conduct the analysis.

The senior housing was approved by all of the members of the board with that condition.
