Manorhaven Recount to Reconvene on Thursday

Official results still to be determined for Manorhaven's mayoral and trustee election.

While progress was certainly made on Wednesday's Manorhaven recount at the Board of Elections in Mineola, it still wasn't enough. The recount was called for by members of the Revival Party after reports that voters had problems with the write-in ballots and the machines.

"At 10 a.m. tomorrow morning we will reconvene the Village of Manorhaven recanvass here at the Board of Elections.," said Board of Elections' Chief Clerk Lauren Corcoran-Doolin. "There are no official results on any race. We look forward to completing the recanvass tomorrow afternoon after we recanvass all of the write-in votes and the votes that are on the machine."

The mayoral absentee ballots and paper rolls were looked at and recounted today, but the voting machines must still be looked at to determine if there are any votes that may be missing from all of the races. After that, the official results will be determined. The trustees election recount will also be conducted tomorrow.
