North Hempstead Acquires Great Neck Arts Center

The acquisition costs will be $800,000.

The Town of North Hempstead board voted Tuesday night to acquire the Great Neck Arts Center's facility to the tune of $800,000.

Supervisor Jon Kaiman explained that the center will become the Gold Coast Arts Center and that the acquisition for $800,000 is for a $3 million building. The Town is acquiring a 4,800 square-foot condo and a 5,200 square-foot condo.

With the Town's acquisition of the building, the Arts center will still be functioning in a now Town-owned building, Supervisor Kaiman explained.
