North Hempstead Adjusts 2012 Fiscal Budget

Over $800,000 in expenditures and income lines shifted around 2012 fiscal budget.

The board adjusted its budget during Tuesday night's meeting.

The largest budget amount, $500,000, was for services related to Hurriance Irene. The Town anticipates that it will get some or all of this money back in the form of grants or aid from Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The Town also adjusted other budget lines to the tune of $227,000 for money that was income coming into the Town for projects performed by the Highway Department for outside local municipalities, including Sands Point Village, and additional rental revenues received. And $115,000 was moved from the Town's general fund to the capital project fund to pay for additional road repair work that was done during the recent unseasonably warm weather.
