North Hempstead Board Meets Tuesday

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.

The  will hold a town board meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 220 Plandome Road in Manhasset. All are welcome. Below is Tuesday's agenda.

1. A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE RESCISSION AND ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE AFFECTING ORCHARD STREET, ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NEW YORK.

Synopsis: The rescission and adoption of this ordinance will allow official vehicles to park in the presently posted Two Hour parking restriction on Orchard Street in Roslyn Heights. Continued from August 2, 2011.

2. A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE DISPOSITION OF REAL PROPERTY BY THE TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY.

RESOLUTIONS:

3. A RESOLUTION SETTING A DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE RESCISSION AND ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE AFFECTING MACKEY AVENUE AND WILLOWDALE AVENUE, PORT WASHINGTON, NEW YORK.

Synopsis: The rescission and adoption of this ordinance will establish a No Stopping Any Time parking restriction on the east side of Mackey Avenue, south of Willowdale Avenue, while maintaining the presently posted Three Hour parking restriction north of Beechwood Avenue; and establish No Stopping Any Time parking restrictions on the north and south sides of Willowdale Avenue, east of Mackey Avenue; and establish No Stopping Here to Corner parking restrictions on the north and south sides of Willowdale Avenue, west of Haven Avenue, while maintaining the presently posted Three Hour parking restrictions between these new No Stopping restrictions, on the north and south sides of Willowdale Avenue, in Port Washington. Tentative hearing date is September 27, 2011.

4. A RESOLUTION SETTING A DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE AFFECTING WEBSTER AVENUE, MANHASSET, NEW YORK.

Synopsis: The adoption of this ordinance will establish a maximum Weight Limit of 3 Tons, east and westbound on the Webster Avenue Bridge, in Manhasset. Tentative hearing date is September 27, 2011.

5. A RESOLUTION SETTING A DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE ON BROADWAY, WESTBURY, NEW YORK.

Synopsis: The adoption of this amendment to the ordinance will establish a handicap parking space on the north side of Broadway, west of Elizabeth Street, in Westbury. Tentative hearing date is September 27, 2011.

6. A RESOLUTION SETTING A DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE RESCISSION OF A HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE ON AVENUE A, PORT WASHINGTON, NEW YORK.

Synopsis: The rescission of this amendment to the ordinance will remove the presently posted handicap parking space on the south side of Avenue A, east of Carey Street, in Port Washington. Tentative hearing date is September 27, 2011.

7. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOWN CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS FOR REPLACEMENT OF FUEL TANKS AT THE ALBERTSON HIGHWAY YARD DPW PROJECT NO. 11-07.

8. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A BID FOR AIR DUCT, BOILER AND CHIMNEY CLEANING (TNH049-2011).

9. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A BID FOR ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE SERVICES (TNH045-2011).

10. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A BID FOR TREES, FLOWERS AND SHRUBS (TNH038R-2011).

11. A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 488-2011, ADOPTED ON AUGUST 23, 2011.

Synopsis: This resolution will amend the terms of the agreement with Angelica Cuevas, ZUMBA instructor.

12. A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 330-2011 (TNH 034-2011), ADOPTED ON MAY 24, 2011.

Synopsis: This resolution allows an administrative correction to a previous award bid so that the authorizing resolution correctly reflects the corporate name of the prevailing bidder.

13. A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE APPLICATION OF THE BANK OF NEW YORK MELLON AND JAMES J. VILARDI FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PREMISES DESIGNATED ON THE NASSAU COUNTY LAND AND TAX MAP AS SECTION 11, BLOCK 1, LOTS 45-47, ALSO KNOWN AS "SITE D" AND LOCATED AT 839 PROSPECT AVENUE, NEW CASSEL/WESTBURY, NEW YORK.

14. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS WITH VARIOUS LONG ISLAND PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS FOR PROJECTS WITHIN THE URBAN RENEWAL AREA.

Synopsis: Authorization will allow each respective artist to create a water feature at the Swalm Street Park; a surface re-grade and re-texturing around the fountain at Gateway Park; a planter, seating area, water feature or similar functional element at the Rose Ribbon Park; and two bus shelters along Prospect Avenue in New Cassel. Project funding is through Federal Housing and Urban Development Economic Development Initiative funds ($395,000) and the Nassau County Open Space Bond Act ($72,000).

15. A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BUILDING DEPARTMENT POLICY AND PROCEDURE MANUALS FOR A FORMAL REVIEW AS PART OF THE TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD'S BUILDING DEPARTMENT'S NATIONAL ACCREDITATION PROCESS.

16. BOND RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD, NEW YORK, ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 7, 2011, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF A SETTLED CLAIM ON BEHALF OF THE GLENWOOD WATER DISTRICT PURSUANT TO TOWN LAW SECTION 215(6), STATING THE ESTIMATED MAXIMUM COST THEREOF IS NOT TO EXCEED $60,000, APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT THEREFOR, AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF NOT TO EXCEED $60,000 BONDS TO FINANCE SAID APPROPRIATION.

17. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE PAYMENT OF A CLAIM(S) AGAINST THE TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE COMPTROLLER OR DEPUTY COMPTROLLER TO PAY THE COST THEREOF.

18. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT, APPOINTMENT, TRANSFER, ADJUSTMENT, CORRECTION, CHANGE IN GRADE OR SALARY, AND/OR TERMINATION OF EMPLOYEES AND/OR OFFICIALS IN VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF THE TOWN.
