North Hempstead Introduces 'Vacation Recreation' Program for Kids

Event runs Feb. 18-19 at Aquatic Activities Center at Tully Park.

North Hempstead will be hosting a Vacation Recreation program for children at the Aquatic Activities Center at Tully Park during in February, it was announced Thursday.

“This new afternoon program will allow our residents to get a sampling of the wonderful and exciting children’s activity programs that the Town of North Hempstead has to offer,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth in a press release.

On Feb. 18, the schedule includes children’s movement and yoga, arts and crafts and two hours of pool time.

The film “Despicable Me 2” and pool time will take place Feb. 19. 

Both afternoon sessions will run from 1:30-5:30 p.m. during Presidents Week.

Enrollment for each session is open to all North Hempstead children age five and over and will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Admission is free to members of the Aquatic Activity Center and will be $7 per day for resident non-members.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
