Oct. 5: League of Women Voters, Farmers Market And Zumba

Happenings in the area.

1. There's a League of Women Voters meeting that features State Sen. Jack Martins and Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, who will discuss their views on the latest happenings in Albany. 1 p.m. at Manhasset Public Library, 30 Onderdonk Ave, Manhasset. 

2. Stop by the Roslyn North Hills Farmers Market from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Christopher Morley Park.

3. The Reconstructionist Synagogue of The North Shore is collecting fresh produce for those in need. 1001 Plandome Road, Plandome, NY. Drop off food between 2:30-6:30 p.m. This effort coincides with the Jewish harvest festival of Sukkot.

4. There's a Zumba class at Berest Dance Center, 9:30-10:30 a.m.  

5. Go Vikings! Port takes on Valley Stream Central in boys soccer at at 4:30 p.m. And over at the gym, it's Port vs. Herricks in boys volleyball at 4:45 p.m. See who else Port is playing on Wednesday

The TONH should be under some investigation for charging such a high fee for a very short summerRead More season. You lose most of june and the pool closes in early September. Better off paying as you go just purchase the parking permit which is good at the Manorhaven Pool and the Harbor beach. Stop buying a season pass in protest to the yearly excessive price increase.

We had discolored water on Hickory also.
