Question Of The Day: Voting Machines

Do you or does someone you know have trouble with the new paper ballots?

Some advocates for the disabled say that the new paper ballot voting machines deny people who need assistance the right to a secret ballot. These advocates point out that some people, because of a disability, cannot fill out a ballot on their own.

Assemb. Michelle Schimel's voting machine legislation (A.9178) – maintaining lever voting machines for school district, villages and special district elections until December 31, 2014 – will likely be voted on in the next week, a spokeswoman from her office said.

Do you or does someone you know have trouble with the new paper ballot voting machines? Have you found that accessible machines for people with disabilities are made available? Tell us in the comments.
