Schimel Honors Veterans
The assemblywoman delivered handmade Valentines and other items to Long Island veterans.
Assemb. Michelle Schimel, D-Great Neck, delivered handmade Valentines and assorted items to veterans at the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook and the Northport VA Medical Center. Amember of the Assembly’s Veterans Affairs Committee, Schimel spearheaded the local effort, enlisting public and parochial schools, along with businesses and private citizens, to create homemade valentines and contribute needed items such as personal care products, outerwear, and electronics to residents at both facilities.
