Tar and feather those who voted to approve it (just kidding).
RHMcCabe August 15, 2012 at 11:22 AM
Fast removal will be the best outcome.Thank God for responsible leadership.

It should have never been put there! Hopefully it will be removed and our environment and health no longer threatened.
sadeto August 15, 2012 at 12:41 PM
There are other cell towers and antennae in this town, two very close by this one, so how does removing only one mean that our environment and health will not be threatened? This is mass hysteria, I hope it is removed just so everyone stops whining about it.

Yes there are cell towers everywhere - but not on the residental property next to everyone's house! This should not have been approved and is a clear result of corruption at it's best. REMOVE THE TOWER and restore the property value, but more importantly restore the health of the tax paying residents of the surrounding area.

Just remember that the cellphone handset you place to your ear is more dangerous than any cell site, including to the next door residents.
matteo August 15, 2012 at 01:21 PM
If it can't be legally removed at this point, how about some very high taxes?
Jesse Conover August 15, 2012 at 02:47 PM
Cellphone handset isn't more dangerous than a 100ft tower. Stop spreading lies.

The resident who lives next door to the tower is a cancer surviver and also a police officer . Dont you follow the news?? Wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy . She was so brave to share her story with everyone. Lets protect our children ,every negitive blog is from the past administration and crew. Their opinion does not mean a thing they are not harvard scientists. There is proven research .They proved to everyone that they have no regard for they people and our children. Lets not waste our time responding to fools.

There's an interesting article that discusses both cellphone and cell tower dangers. Of course, it is from Health Canada, but I think it's still worth reading to put some perspective on things. Here's the link: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/hl-vs/iyh-vsv/prod/cell-eng.php

A WHO study cites similar concerns: http://www.iarc.fr/en/media-centre/pr/2011/pdfs/pr208_E.pdf Base station antennas emit continuously at far higher power levels than handsets but field intensities drop rapidly with the square of distance away from the antenna. Thus radiation at ground level is much weaker than a handset held close to the body.

As far back as 1995, Prof. Henri Lai and N.P. Singh documented damage to the DNA of rats when exposed to the same kind of radiation as that emitted by cell towers. He conducted another study in 2004, which confirmed these earlier results. DNA damage can lead to a wide variety of disorders, including cancer. In another Australian study two years later, Dr. Bruce Hocking in Sidney found that children living near TV and FM broadcast towers (emitting the same kind of radiation as cell towers) had more than twice the rate of leukemia than children living more than seven miles away.

As the mother of the young lady with cancer who lives next to the cell tower and I live across the street.. It is a disgrace that it got this far. The first time I heard about it is when they came and cut down all the trees to put it up. Old administration was very sneaky. It needs to go so my daughter doesn't have to. If this goes on we will all be moving from our home. Grew up here and kived here all my life. It's a shame what some people would do for money

@ Elizabeth your an amazing mother .The bloggers that post in favor of the tower are from the past administration and their puppets. We all came together with the rally and need to continue the fight. We have the rt people in office . George has nothing else to do but try an upset the people of port. NO POWER TO THE TOWER!!

Someone tell Apple not to sell any iphone 5s in manorhaven, The mayor and her drones does not want you to have a cell signal to use it, oh, only if the signal is bouncing around in someone elses back yard thats ok with them.
Archie Bunker August 15, 2012 at 08:22 PM
Just hire some illegals to tear it down and sell it for scrap metal Problem solved
mitch d August 15, 2012 at 09:40 PM
@ Craig who I believe is Dougie Boy Sclafer former chair of the BZA who voted for the tower. You take your orders from the puppet master P. Dejana . I thought manorhaven was rid of you but you always need to put your two cents in and think someone cares . Got news for you no one does!
Nicholas Capozzi August 15, 2012 at 10:21 PM
ok,Stan

I would just like to thank the new administration for filing this lawsuit. I wish your administration lots of luck and success. I think that this village needs people who really care about the community , I have seen many different people in village hall, however, it seems they all have their own agendas and the same people can buy their votes. It is so sad that it all comes down to money and that most people can be bought for a price!!!
gina August 16, 2012 at 12:21 AM
I also agree with Archie Bunker it should be taken down and sold for scrap metal!!
R Miller August 16, 2012 at 01:41 PM
It will be an interesting case to say the least. The way I look at it the village either wins or they lose with a huge liability. I personally think right or wrong the case to stop the tower from going into operation will be difficult one to argue in court. We shall see

lets try to do two things ...one get the cell tower out of the neighborhood and two not saddle ourselves with a huge bill if we lose the lawsuit. lets pay or share payment to relocate it to the back of the park where it should have been put in the first place and honor the lease we signed. perhaps they will pay it all if we extend the lease.
