Tell Us: D.C. Scandals or Princesses Long Island?

Which you rather Rep. Steve Israel address?

As scandals rock Washington and approval numbers for Congress flounder, Rep. Steve Israel is sounding off — regarding a Bravo television show.

Last week, the Huntington Democrat blogged on the Huffington Post against the show Princesses: Long Island.

Referencing one scene in a recent episode, Israel wrote, "As a Jew, I can say with confidence that this dinner was exactly the opposite of what the sacred Sabbath dinner is supposed to be," he wrote. "But for those watching unfamiliar with the holy meaning of the Jewish Sabbath, it is shown in the worst way possible, with excessive drinking and fighting."

According to Israel, the show is "disgraceful, misleading, and fuel[s] anti-Semitic stereotypes."

But according to a recent Rassmussen poll, few Americans are giving Congress high marks regarding their performance either.

Only six percent (6%) of likely U.S. voters give Congress good or excellent marks for the job they are doing, according to a June Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Sixty-four percent (64%) rate the performance of Israel and his congressional colleagues as poor.

Rep. Israel has clearly voiced his opinion locally regarding the popular "Princesses" show, but little to nothing has been heard from the congressman regarding where he stands and what he is doing to get to the bottom of hot-topic issues such as the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS, the handling of the Benghazi terrorist attack and the Associated Press reporters being targeted by the Justice Department.

Which would your rather hear from Rep. Israel? His opinion on questions surrounding the Bravo television show or his opinion and answers to questions regarding the scandals that are currently making national headlines in Washington? Sound off in the comments section.
