Walk To Fight Bullying is Saturday at N. Hempstead Beach Park

Organizers hope to raise awareness, promote healing.

The first Bullying Awareness Walk is Saturday at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington.

Sponsored by the Town of North Hempstead, the walk aims to rally local students, teachers and parents and meant to raise awareness of the dangers of bullying, and promote community healing. 

The walk begins at noon, but the programs starts at 11 a.m. and will feature musical performances from students and teachers along with discussion groups. Organizers hope the event will allow people share stories and learn from others, according to the Town.
