Water and Fire District Election Guide

A rundown of Tuesday's elections in Massapequa and North Massapequa.

On Tuesday the Fire and Water Districts that serve the Massapequa will be holding general elections to fill Commissioners seats.

Some of the candidates running are incumbents, while some are seeking the office for the first time.

Here's a guide to who’s running:

  • Up first, is the Massapequa Water District Commissioner Election, to be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Massapequa Water District headquarters located at 84 Grand Avenue. There are two candidates up for Commissioner positions: Joseph Tricarico is seeking a three-year term, and Raymond Averna is seeking a one-year term. Both are running unopposed.
  • The Massapequa Fire Department Commissioner Election, will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the District's three firehouses: 515 Hicksville Road, 259 Front Street, and 5478 Merrick Road. Michael Gange, who is running unopposed, is up for a five-year term.
  • The final election to be decided on Tuesday is the North Massapequa Fire Department Commissioner Election, which is to be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the North Massapequa Fire Department headquarters located at 1000 North Broadway. Incumbent Nicholas Paolucci is running unopposed for another five-year term.

The Massapequa Fire District election info is incorrect. The election is NOT being held at 1 Brooklyn ave, it is being held in the 3 firehouses and where you vote depends on what election district you are in.

Thanks for pointing out the error, Kevin! The article has been corrected.
