11 Schreiber Musicians to Represent Port Washington at All-State Festival

Selection is based on students' outstanding solo performances.

Eleven students from Schreiber High School's Department of Music were recently selected to represent Port Washington Schools at the Annual New York State School Music Association All-State Conference.

The selected students include: Julia Bain, Daniel Bidikov, Carl Finkbeiner, Halam Kim, Eleanor Kim, Minah Kim, Amelia Pacht, Annie Rubin, Gisella Snailer, Ethan Usoskin, and Emily Weinstein.

The selection of the membership to the All-State organizations is based on the students’ outstanding solo performances at the New York State School Music Association sponsored Solo and Ensemble Festivals held this past spring at Herricks High School. These students are compared with and chosen from the finest high school musicians throughout New York State.

This year’s All-State Conference will be held in Rochester, NY, from Nov. 29-Dec. 2. The selected students will spend four days rehearsing with other extraordinary high school student musicians from the state.  This will culminate in a performance of major master works under noted conductors, at Eastman Hall on the final day of the conference.
