2 Port Washington Synagogues Join Charitable Campaign

The Community Synagogue and Temple Beth Israel seeking donations to fight hunger and poverty.

Fourteen synagogues from the North Shore are collaborating on Nov. 4 in Wynadanch to address issues of hunger, poverty and the envinroment during the fourth annual outreach campaign.

The Community Synagogue and Temple Beth Israel are coming together with Tikkun Alliance of North Shore (TANS) collecting donations for the community.

The campaign takes to heart the Hebrew phrase "Tikkun Olam": "Healing the World".

Items such as winter coasts, clothing, gently used blankets, towels, new toys, puzzles, shoes, books, high school review materials, pet food and health snacks for the cause are in demand.

Donations at the synagogues are beige accepted up until Nov. 1.  

Other synagogues involved include: Mid-Island Y JCC, Midway Jewish Center, North Shore Synagogue, Old Westbury Hebrew Congregation, Shelter Rock Jewish Center, Sid Jacobson JCC, Temple Beth Israel of Port Washington, Temple Beth Sholom, Temple Chaverim, Temple Israel of Great Neck, Temple Judea of Manhasset and Temple Sinai of Roslyn.
