Update: Regular Dismissal at all Port Washington Schools

2 schools had delayed opening.

Update: Power was restored at two Port Washington elementary schools Thursday morning. School officials say there will be a regular dismissal.

Not all parents received notification about the two hour delay because of a service disruption from Connect-ED, the school's notification system.

Both Sousa Elementary School and Manorhaven Elementary Schools are without power. Parents were alerted Thursday morning that there are two hour delayed openings at both schools.

Long Island Power Authority is reporting that outages in some parts of the peninsula, including 628 in Sands Point, may be restored as early as 9 a.m., though it is still assessing conditions in some areas. The school district will send out another message if there needs to be a further delay.
