Photo Of The Day: National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

8 of them attend Schreiber High School in Port Washington.

Port Washington Public School administrators met recently to congratulate the eight National Merit Scholarship semifinalists from Schreiber High School.

The semifinalists include Hannah Fagen, Drew Feldman, Leif Firland-Schill, Joshua Friedman, Ryan Havens, Eleanor Kim, Minah Kim and Sohini Upadhyay.

“The students’ achievement reflects superior performance and ranks them with the brightest students nationwide," said Principal Ira S. Pernick.

“I remain proud of the accomplishments of all our students and believe wholeheartedly that they can and do compete with students from around the nation," said Dr. Kathleen A. Mooney, interim superintendent of schools. "This achievement serves as a reminder of the high quality schools within our District. I look forward to celebrating their achievements with their families, their teachers, and all the professionals who have impacted their lives."

The students now will complete an application form that includes information about academic performance, as well as a recommendation from the school counselor. This supporting documentation will be crucial in determining whether students become finalists in the process.

The entire school community expressed pride in the students’ achievement, wishing them well in the next stage of the process.

Particularly out of line since it's a shared-use puddle for camp groups splashing, not a good poolRead More venue for individuals swimming.

The TONH should be under some investigation for charging such a high fee for a very short summerRead More season. You lose most of june and the pool closes in early September. Better off paying as you go just purchase the parking permit which is good at the Manorhaven Pool and the Harbor beach. Stop buying a season pass in protest to the yearly excessive price increase.

Contact the Village and the water district, it's probably a problem with a pipe on your street.
