Port Student Named to Dean's List

Adam Schmelkin is honored at Skidmore College.

Adam Schmelkin, a member of the class of 2012 at Skidmore College, earned term honors for the fall semester. He is the son of Joel and Judy Schmelkin of Port Washington.

Term honors are awarded for a quality point ratio of 3.6 from a possible 4.0, for students who have completed 14 credit hours.

Skidmore recognizes academic excellence in several ways. In addition to earning term honors based on work completed each semester, a student may be elected to the Periclean Honor Society, Skidmore's own academic honor society, or to the Skidmore chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college that enrolls approximately 2,400 students. The college grants both the bachelor of arts and the bachelor of science degree, as well as a master's degree in liberal arts.
