Due to the widespread power outages from Hurricane Sandy, the Port Washington schools will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Port Washington Police District, Sands Point Police and Nassau County Police issued this statement: "Area conditions remain extremely dangerous. Do not touched downed wires. Do not touch trees entangled in wires. Traffic lights are not working. Travel is hazardous and not recommended." This information was provided by NorthShoreAlert.org.
