Row for Autism is Saturday

A fundraiser featuring North Hempstead high school crew clubs.

Row for Autsim is Saturaday at North Hempstead Beach Park. The event starts at 8:30 a.m., with an awards ceremony at 12:30 p.m.

According to the Town of North Hempstead, the event combines two interests: the love of rowing, and the need to raise awareness of the growing number of children with Autism. This free event features local North Hempstead high school crew clubs that race against each other as well as rowing races by those affected by Autism.

The goal: To raise funds for the purchase of specialized adaptive rowing equipment so that a disabled teenager is paired with a typical peer mentor.
