School District: Zumba Night a Success

Charity event raises $500 for safety and substance abuse.

Zumba night was held at Schreiber High School on Oct. 17 as a fundraiser to support the district's Safety and Substance Abuse Task Force.

With zumba instructors, Rachel Drossman and Linda Cicchetti, the participants were given a fitness filled enthusiastic program.

The event raised $500 that will go toward preventive and proactive programming for the students and parents of Port Washington.

"Tonight was a fun night for teachers, students, parents, and kids.  A big thanks to the instructors who volunteered their time and everyone who came out to support the mission of the Task Force. It was a good time," says Stephanie Joannon, a co-chairpoerson of the Task Force and the district's Athletic Director.

Schreiber's Letter Club co-sponsored the event and will donate all of their proceeds from their sales to the Task Force.
