Sept. 7: School's Open, Bard Reading And Basketball

Happenings in the area.

1. School is open, so police are reminding drivers to slow down. Watch for children, and stop for school buses picking up or discharging students. Allow for extra travel time.

4. Registration is on for  Island Garden/Super League Basketball at Adam Katz Athletic Center of the Chabad of Port Washington. Groups are forming for boys grades 3-8.

5. Catch the Bards Reading From  in Glen Cove. It's a poetry reading series, sponsored by The Bards Initiative.
