Update: Delays, Closures Announced Ahead of Wednesday Snow

More snow is falling in our area and some schools have announced delayed openings.

Most colleges in the area announced two, three, and four-hour delays as students filter in from across the region, according to Newsday.

Here are the latest reported updates, as of 12:30 a.m. Wednesday:

Colleges and universities:

  • Adelphi University, Garden City, Manhattan, Hauppauge: delayed opening at 10 a.m.
  • Briarcliffe College, Nassau and Suffolk: Delayed opening at 11 a.m.
  • Farmingdale State College: Delayed opening at 12 p.m.
  • Hofstra University: Delayed opening at 10 a.m.
  • Long Island University Riverhead: Delayed opening at 11 a.m.
  • Molloy College: Delayed opening at 12 p.m.
  • Nassau Community College: All day, evening classes cancelled; activities cancelled.
  • NYIT Old Westbury, Manhattan, Central Islip: Delayed opening at 12:30 p.m.
  • St. John’s University: Delayed opening at 11 a.m.
  • St. Joseph’s College Patchogue: Delayed opening at 12 p.m.
  • Stony Brook University: No morning classes
Private Schools:
  • Friends Academy: Closed
  • Holy Trinity High School: Closed
  • Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf: Closed
  • Sacred Heart Academy: Closed
  • St. Anthony's High School: Closed
  • St. Dominic High School: Closed
  • The Waldorf School: Closed
