Sousa Annual Thanksgiving Day Baskets

Every Sousa classroom assembled baskets so families would have plentiful Thanksgiving Day feasts.

It was a busy week at  community joined together for its annual tradition of assembling Thanksgiving Day baskets for Port Washington's neediest families.

Every Sousa classroom assembled one or more baskets that included everything a family would need to have a plentiful Thanksgiving Day feast.  The event was coordinated by guidance counselor Jennifer Biblowitz.

Teachers also shared books with their classes about the meaning of Thanksgiving and the importance of people coming together to help members of their school and community.  Sousa teachers delivered the Thanksgiving Day baskets to individual families this week to ensure that each would be ready for the big day!
