Teq, a Huntington-based educational technology and professional development firm, plans to hire 30 new sales people in the next three months, the company announced this week.

The company provides professional development for teachers and administrators to help students achieve and also sells robots for classroom use.

Teq's hiring plans help the firm position itself as a fast growing Long Island technology company.

“We have a real commitment to Long Island and am looking to recruit Long Island’s best and brightest recent college grads, and then providing them with a great onboarding and training experience,” said Chris Hickey, president of the firm.

Describing the company's sales training and development program as "top notch," Hickey said, "we plan to create a world class sales team on Long Island, through developing these recent college grads, with a career path from inside sales to field sales.”

Once hired, the new employees will then participate in a comprehensive training program, organized into three classes of 10 sales account executives, beginning with inside sales. The ales training classes are slated for July 20, Aug. 15, and Sept, 15.

For these 30 new positions,  Teq is offering compensation packages that include $40,0000 base to start, with $50,000 after first year,  and a sales compensation plan to earn up to $140,000 in less than 18 months.
