Port Native Makes Lacrosse All-America List at Yale

Michael Quinn named preseason All-America by lacrosse.com.

Yale University sophomore defenseman Michael Quinn of Port Washington was named All-America by insidelacrosse.com in their preseason poll.

Quinn, who played for Chaminade High School, had 27 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers last spring for Yale, which had four all-league and three All-America selections on the list.

The Bulldogs, picked third in the Ivy League pre-season coaches poll, opens the season at home against St. John's on Feb. 22.

Yale, the two-time defending Ivy League Tournament Champions, is coming off a 12-5 season and a No. 7 national ranking last year. The Bulldogs beat Princeton to win the league tournament before capturing a 2013 NCAA Tournament contest at Penn State. A last-second loss to Syracuse in the national quarterfinal at Maryland prevented the Elis from making their first semifinal appearance since 1990.
