Port Rowing Middle School Team Dominates at Local and State Regattas

Team finishes strong at recent events.

Friends of Port Rowing sent 30 members of their middle school program to the North American Jr. B/C Championships on May 3.

Racing in four categories, six weeks of training and conditioning prior to the contest in Saratoga, N.Y., paid off. 

The boys 8+ team finished third in their category. The two boats of girls 8+ placed second and fifth in their event. Both the girls an boys 4s teams finished strong. Boys B and A 4s raced to first and second place. The four girls 4s teams (B,A,D,C) placed first, second, third and fifth. 

On May 22 the Port rowers continued raced against Greenwich Boat Club and Row NY. Three girls 8's participated in different heats and each boat won their heat by a large margin. The middle school boy's 8 and the mixed 8  finished second. The two girls 8's placed first and third in the overall fastest times of the day.
