Port Washington Sports Notebook: March 18-24

Patch will get you caught up on all your local sports action.

There are so many sports out in the Port Washington area, it can be a full-time job just sifting through all of the action. Luckily, you have Patch and we will get you caught up in one convenient place each week.

Here’s what the local Port Washington teams have been up to this week.

Port Washinton:

Boys Lacrosse: The boys won all three of their games this week. They won their first game of the season on March 19 over Locust Valley by a score of 10-2. The scoring was led by John Crawley who amassed four goals. Additionally, Richard Greenberg totaled three goals.

On March 22 they defeated South Side by the score of 10-6. John Crawley continued his exceptional play by scoring five goals.

The next day, the boys defeated Waubonsie Valley in a 12-2 blowout. Crawley added four more goals to bring his weekly total to an incredible 13. Seth Obadia also scored four goals in the win.

Girls Lacrosse: The girls lost their only game of the season on March 20 by a score of 18-8 to Manhassat. The star of the game was Lindsey Ronbeck who scored and assists two goals.

Manhasset:

Girls Lacrosse: Manhasset won their only game of the season so far over Port Washington by the score of 18-8. Lindsey Ronbeck scored twice and assists two goals. They also had three goalies record saves.

St. Mary’s:

Boys Lacrosse: The Gaels lost their first game of the season on March 20 to Great Neck North by a score of 10-9. It was a very close game but they were defeated on a goal by Evan Dorman in the final minutes.

They responded with a victory on March 23 over Great Neck South by the score of 11-4. The scoring was led by Tim Ahern who totaled a phenomenal six goals  and Brendan Gallagher added a very impressive five assists.
