Port Women's Lacrosse Star Commits to Old Dominion

Natalie Ledwitz to play for Lady Monarchs in 2014.

Schreiber standout Natalie Ledwitz has signed on to lend her women's lacrosse talents to Old Dominion University next year. 

The 5 foot five inch, 105 pound midfielder was voted Most Improved Player in 2012 for the Vikings as a junior.

In front of family, school officials and friends in the high school's lobby Nov. 15, Ledwitz signed her national letter of intent to play for the Lady Monarchs.

"My dream since Third Grade was to play lacrosse in college and I aim to get there!" said Ledwitz to NCSA.org.

Coached by Heather Holt, a member of Conference USA in NCAA Division, Old Dominion finished 4-13 last season.

On hand at the event was schools Superintendent Kathleen Mooney, Assistant Superintendent Wafa Westervelt, Human Resources Administrator Elaine Fenick and Board of Education President Karen Sloan.

“The letter of intent is a binding agreement between a prospective student athlete and the member institution. The athlete agrees to attend the institution full time and the institution agrees to provide athletics financial aid," said Schrieber Athletic Director Stephanie Joannon.
