Schreiber Teams Honored by Town For County Titles

Teams recognized for taking Nassau County championships in 2013.

The Schreiber High School girls tennis team and boys volleyball teams were honored at Town Hall this week for winning 2013 Nassau County championships.

The Girls Tennis team defeated Manhasset in the Finals on Oct. 18 to advance to their first Long Island championship since 2008.

The Boys volleyball squad took down top-seeded Massapequa to grab the Nassau Class A Championship on Nov. 6.

"We have a great group of guys here, and got on quite a roll in the playoffs," said volleyball Team Captain Benjamin Moy who addressed the town board. "But throughout the entire season, coach always stressed the importance of having fun and playing with a love for the game."

Girls Tennis coach Stan Makover talked about the hard work and dedication of his players and how his team has joined a strong group of girls tennis powerhouse programs across Nassau County.
