Weber Fall Sports Teams Dominating at Season's Midway Point

Midway through the 2013 fall season, Weber Middle School students have been enjoying success on in football, soccer, field hockey fields, tennis and cross country.  

In football, the 8th grade team has won two out of three this season and most recently defeated Clarke by a score of 21-0. The 7th-graders stopped Clarke with three goal line stands as time ran out in a recent 13-12 victory.  

In soccer, the 7th and 8th grade boys teams are undefeated and playing some of their best soccer of the season. Eighth grade girls soccer is off to a 4-0 start, including a 2-1 win over rival Garden City last week. The bright orange of Unity Day might have brought some luck to the 7th grade girls soccer team as they scored with 8 seconds left in the game to win 1-0.

Mark your calendars, the girls soccer rematch is Oct. 25.  

The 7th and 8th grade field hockey teams earned scoreless shutouts last week against field hockey powerhouses Massapequa and Carle Place.

In cross country, the boys and girls teams are have yet to taste defeat.

The tennis team continues to work hard and progress during the season. 

"Congratulations to all the Weber athletes on their excellence this fall," said school officials in a release.
