Ask the Architect

Ask the Architect

Tip of the Month – October 2011:  Prior to starting the construction phase of a home improvement project, it is recommended that the homeowner, contractor and architect have a meeting to review the approved plans and to discuss any specific questions concerning the project.  This will help ensure that the project runs smoothly from beginning to end.

Are you thinking about remodeling or expanding your home?  Are you thinking about legalizing something in your home or on your property?  Feel free to contact me with your question and I would be happy to provide you with general advice.

Steven T. Smith, AIA, is a Port Washington-based architect. Reach him at (516) 944-8722.
