5 Things to Know About Seeing Saturday’s ‘Broadway Showstoppers’ at The Preserve

Here are five things to know about seeing “Broadway Showstoppers,” a musical revue featuring popular tunes from the Great White Way at Sands Point Preserve at Castle Gould’s Great Hall Saturday.

  1. Broadway Showstoppers is produced by Joanne Fried and Helene Tiger, two top names in regional theater, featuring a cast of well-known Long Island performers, backed by a three piece orchestra led by Sandra Vigliotti.  [link to cast members] 
  2. The show features plenty of crowd-pleasers, including tunes from Kiss Me Kate, South Pacific, La Cage aux Folles, Rent, Les Misérables – plus one or two surprises.
  3. Tiger and Fried specialize in original works – favorites include Irving Berlin and Frank Sinatra revues.
  4. Upcoming cultural arts programs at Sands Point Preserve include Verdi’s Rigoletto on Aug. 16; and another performance of “Broadway Showstoppers,” on Aug. 9.
  5. Tickets include cocktails and dinner at 7 p.m., the performance at 8 p.m., followed by dessert with the artists. The all inclusive ticket price is $85 per person / $75 with Friends Annual Pass.
